This age old question has stumped many of those seeking to pursue it... What's the defining moment when you're absolutely sure that you're in love? Is it shortness of breath, goosebumps, warmth in your heart, a buckle in your knees, or a tear in your eye?
you care more of their happiness than your own? they finally meet the family. their interests are "your" interests as well. when you try to leave that person and try to replace them.. but cant because you always go back to them?
I think you're in love when you want to introduce your family to him/her. Also, if you're willing to make more sacrifices than the other person. Relationships are give and take; if you're willing to give more to the other person and be happy about it, that's a sign that you love him/her more than yourself. I know a lot of relationships that seek equality, however, is it really love if you're only doing something because the other person has to do it in return? Love is when you think of the other person's interests more than your own, their safety more than your own, their comfort more than your own, and their happiness more than your own.
When you can't get them out of your head, and don't even want to try. When your heart skips a beat at the sound of their voice. When you can't imagine any sort of future without them. When they're the first thing you think of each morning, and the last thing you think of each night. You absolutely know when you're in love, but everyone's experience is likely to be different in some respects. Just trust your instincts, and enjoy the feeling of loving and being loved.
Hi Sandra! You mean what I am going through at the present time? And when true love comes about it is so unexpected! And when you are experiencing true love - no matter what age you are - it is great to have a good friend to talk about it to!
Richard, love has no age or cultural barriers, and yes, it creeps up on you when you least expect it - that's how you know it's love. Having a friend to talk with is also great, because you just want to say - or type - their name all the time, and real friends will let you talk about your love, because that just makes it more real. There are just so many things that make falling in love so special - it's different for everyone, yet at the heart of it all, it's also similar, which is why those who have been privileged to fall in love can recognise the signs in others. It's what makes the world go around, after all.
When I'm in love I can wander around looking for my car keys... when my car keys were in my hand all along. When I'm in love it feels like my brain is in the OFF position; however, I'm deliriously happy.
Ahhhh....there's so much to choose from! I would say, every waking second and thought is dedicated to this person. You find yourself smiling for no reason, stirring a mixing bowl and realize the reason you're grinning like an idiot is because you remembered something they said or did. You find yourself not needing there to be a sexually physical relationship, you're just content and exhilarated lying next to them and soaking up their scent. Your thoughts and desires no longer become yours, but ours, a mutual love and appreciation for each other. You appreciate and adore everything about them, celebrating even their flaws. Being away from them is the single, most sweetest torture you have and will ever endure. I'm not in love and haven't been for awhile, but I SO remember what it was like
She stands out in front of your eyes in a crowded place and just about anywhere. When you are in love, you don't have any defined description about it just like the feeling of winning first prize in a lottery.
