  1. I assumed most of you dine in Asian restaurant -Thai, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Filipino etc. From those tempting dishes you tasted, what are your favorites?

Since I was born and raised in Asia, I like mouth-watering dishes such as the never-ending Chicken Adobo, Chinese Dumplins, Spring Rolls (best ever) and sushi. What about you?

Sushi is my favourite. And although you can get things like 'pizza sushi', it's generally pretty healthy for you (especially if you don't smother it in soy sauce). I just love popping an entire piece in my mouth!

I also love bubble tea! My favorite is taro. Taro is a sweet potato so I was a bit reluctant to try it, but it's really sweet and delicious. The 'bubbles' are actually tapioca that have been soaking in brown sugar, yum yum!

  3. I've experienced Chinese, Japanese and Thai cusine. I like Spring-rolls, sushi and shredded beef. Although I find shredded beef can be tough on the stomach.

  4. Oh yes, taro milk tea is a knockout. Chatime is more popular in local consumers. They have also a Taro flavor and other concoctions which is becoming popular among young adults. But I never heard of pizza sushi. Really.
  5. Spring rolls is my favorite. We used to make some stuffed ground pork mixed with shrimp and soak in a little bit spicy ketchup. This finger food is a frequent dish served in every occasion in the house.

Topics like this makes me nostalgic about my days traveling in Japan. I like Japanesse and Korean food, especially their street foods. I also remember a very popular dish in Singapore, the Chili Crab. It was made with hard-shell crabs cooked in thick gravy with a tomato chili base. I crave this dish and I think it should be featured on a TV show.

Definitely sushi, I think, but I have several other favorites that come in right behind, I think. I really enjoy Chinese pork buns and spring rolls, too, for example.

And the bubble tea mentioned above? I had my first a few years ago and I must say, it's rather strange texture-wise, but interesting to drink/eat, lol.

Sushi, Sashimi, Dumplings, Siomai, and Bubble tea. :) Actually I like most of the Chinese and Japanese food (except for the exotic ones :D). I've been into Thai food lately, even though I don't like spicy food. (Thai is just that tasty!)

You all are making me so hungry! I'm the weird one who hasn't tried any of that out - not even sushi. That crab looks amazing, though.

Indian food is my favorite, out of all Asian foods, even though I am Chinese myself! Tikka masala, "curries" (yeah I know it's not really called that), samosas, naan, all super super tasty.
  11. Nice to know. Indian cuisines are tasty in terms of flavor. They used different herbs like turmeric, ginger and spicy red hot chilis. But I never tried any Indian cuisine yet aside from those curries you mentioned above.

In my country, I get to taste Chinese, Indian, Thai and my very own Malay food. I love all of them but if I were to choose my favorite food to eat, it would be Thai. I love Tom Yum Soup. My daughter went to Bangkok and she said that the Tom Yum there isn't as hot and spicy as the ones that we eat in Malaysia. It's more sour than hot, she said but the Tom Yum that I usually eat is always hot and a little sour too.

  13. I wish I can eat sea foods. This Tom Yum soup is probably tempting. Upon researching, it looks like the Filipino sinigang only it is spicy.

I love Japanese food, nothing beats a nice fresh plate of mixed Sashimi with some fresh made wasabi!

I also love Thai food because of the interesting spices and herbs they use.

I am from the Philippines and though I also like some Chinese and Japanese foods, I am more in love with what my country can also offer to the whole world. One of our popular dishes is called as Bicol Express. Just like what the name implies is a specialty dish from the Bicol region here in my country.

This is a well-known regional dish people who have a hot palate would always love. There are some here who sauté hot chili peppers and nothing else and enjoy this dish with their normal drinks or with our staple rice. :D

My mom use to cook us egg rolls every so often growing up. She would actually have to feed half the neighborhood kids too. She used a recipe that she got from a Vietnamese woman that she knew when she was young. I cannot say that I much like Asian food, but man was that good. She actually taught my wife how to make them a few months ago when she came to visit us. Now I get to eat them again.

  17. The Bicol Express is one of the most tempting dish we usually have during our booze up session. My neighbor would volunteer to cook for that. It was really a tasty meal.

I've never really cared much for Japanese cuisine. My girlfriend gets a kick out of it but it just doesn't suit my palette. Whenever we go to a Japanese restaurant, I just order ramen since it's the safest choice for me. I'm more of a grill/roast person myself so I really find Filipino, Thai and Malay food scrumptious. My favorite is "lechon" which is basically a roasted whole pig usually served in Filipino festivities.

But as of now, I'm trying to broaden my horizon which is why I'm trying to learn to love Japanese cuisine. Hope I'll get used to it as my girlfriend really pushes me to eat it during our dates. :)

I think it is really about time that we would a name in the international cuisine category and we should really include this Bicol Express as it is really tasty, hot and very simple. While other Asian countries already have their own contributions to international culinary, we still have to have a place of our own. :D

That sure looks spicy! I'd need 3 Coca-Cola 1L bottles to be able to eat that chili :p
