Anyone's views on the best cities to live in the US?

I have never lived in America so can't comment on this a lot, but I have visited Florida and San Fransisco and loved them both a lot, I would probably say Florida out of the two.

I've been all over the US, and out of everywhere (Which is almost every state) I'd have to pick Washington or California.

Washington for the luscious greenery and beautiful landscapes.

California for... Well, being California! Sun, surf, seafood, the works! I'd stay away from the LA area though :p

I would vote San Francisco. It's a beautiful city that offers something for everyone. It has great shopping, restaurants, and several "must sees." Not to mention, cool cable cars to ride. :D

    - We have the Marina for those who enjoy picnics, jogging, bike riding, flying kites, volleyball, and
    anything out doors.

    - There's the Wharf for boat tours to Alcatraz or around the Bay, and of course great seafood.
Nothing beats eating crab and fried calamari on the curb, and washing it down with a
    nice cold Corona.

    - For nature lovers, Golden Gate Park is a must. With its lush vegetation, landscaping, flowers, it's
a beautiful place to walk, jog or bike.

    - For beach lovers, Sunset is your place.

    - For great shopping, Union Square.

    - And other must sees: China Town, Coit Tower, Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard, downtown, the
    Presidio, and Treasure Island.

Yep, San Francisco is definitely one of the best cities to live in the U.S.

There are many great cities to live in the US and I imagine the world. I spent 3 years living in Western Massachusetts and I think that New England is a beautiful part of the country. They are known for their beautiful autumns and coming from the Midwest, I thought I had already experienced the beauty of 4 seasons but I must say that there is nothing like driving through rural areas during fall. Those drives were some of the most beautiful in my life.

I am from the Windy City and I love it. I miss it anytime that I am away from it. I love the lakefront, the skyscrapers and the skyline views. They are just spectacular. It can't be beat for nightlife, culture, museums, restaurants, sports, etc......It is truly an eclectic city of neighborhoods. passion and personality. I love it!

I think that these two places are definite contenders for the best place to live contest.

I actually went on the cable cars there when I visited and really loved them, totally forgot all about them though! I loved San Fransisco, only if I had the money to move from England to America I would... However I would be pretty worried having the police carry guns with them. :p

I think anywhere along the beach in California. The beach really has endless opportunities. You can go swimming in it, take a jog by it and much more!

I did actually visit San Fransisco last summer but in my opinion, it is a little too crowded for me :p

I've heard that San Diego is stunning. I haven't made it down there yet. I'm guessing you're referring to the beaches of San Diego?

Well basically anywhere along the coast is a great place to live even though it can get expensive. I have been to a few beaches in San Diego and they were pretty nice. :)

I would say New York. It has all the aspects for a person my age at least, great clubs, good food, and some good places to shop. Not only though is it good for my age though almost any age can love it here because of the endless amounts of things to do in NYC.

The only minus is high prices for living in the city.

I have never lived in America but I have visited California once and it was amazing, I'd definately love to go back.

I agree with you Barton, Cali is fun to visit, but NYC in my opinion is still 10 times better to live.

NYC is on my 'go to' places to visit. I would love to visit Central Park. It looks and sounds awesome from what I've seen in "Selling New York" on HGTV. I love that show! The apartments they list are drop-dead gorgeous but there's always sticker shock when the listing price is in the millions, and it's only 1,200 sq ft. :D

FL have the most beautiful beaches..some of the beaches because of the water and sand - you do feel you are in a whole different world!
  15. Kyrisma Member

However I think = California is the only state where you can hit the beach and hit the snow in 1 DAY! :D
  16. Kyrisma Member

ur paying for the view and floor to ceiling glass windows!

Yeah that's what I meant, I don't think it's a great place to live, but it makes a fantastic vacation.

I would say that the best place to live would be Miami, Florida. It has awesome shopping centers , many sceneries, beautiful beaches, and it's mostly warm and sunny which is perfect for me. Also, the price of living there is quite cheap since they don't have expensive taxes like New York has.

Yes! That is so true. :)

I went to Miami for my friend's birthday celebration and it was a blast. You're right, the shopping is awesome and the beaches are beautiful. We had a lot of fun. I went there pale as a ghost and came back red as a lobster. :D The heat was fierce during our trip too.
